Modifying your SMTP port

If you need to update your SMTP port, here is a brief guide to some of the latest versions of the more popular mail clients. Please note that the recommended port to use for this service is not 587. Once you have updated the port, it is recommended that you completely close and restart your mail client:

Outlook Express

Click the Tools menu, click Accounts.
Click the Mail tab, click your Internet Mail account, and then click Edit.
Click the Account Settings tab, click Click here for advanced sending options, and then change the port to 587.

Outlook 2010

Click the Tools menu >> then click E-mail Accounts.
Click the View or change existing e-mail accounts option >> then click the Next button.
Click your e-mail account >> then click the Change button.
Click the More Settings button.
Click the Advanced tab.
In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box type 587.

Windows Live Mail

Right click on The name of your email account in the left hand menu. (Under it there will be Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, etc.) and you'll see this listed below "Quick Views" items
Click properties.
Click on the Advanced tab on the right side of the properties window.
The first box is the SMTP (Outgoing) port number. Change this to 587.

Thunderbird

Click Tools menu
Click Account Settings
Click Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the left hand menu
Hilight the SMTP server you want to change
Click Edit
Change the port to 587.

Mac Mail

Click mail menu, and choose preferences
Click the email account to modify under accounts
Under Outgoing server (SMTP) click on the drop down bar and select "Edit SMTP server list..."
Click on your desired Outgoing server and then click advanced.
Select option for custom port and type in 587.

How to access website statistics on your professional account

1. Login to https://account.34sp.com
2. Type the name of your domain into the search box. You can click on it when it appears or press enter.

3. Click on 'Visitor Stats'

4. You can see your basic stats here. Click on the 'Login to Webalizer' button to log into your stats (this will be your FTP username and password)

How to manage DNS on your professional hosting account

1. Login to https://account.34sp.com

2. Type the name of your domain into the search box. You can click on it when it appears or press enter.

3. Click 'Manage Domains'

4. You will see all of your DNS records listed as below:

5. To add a new record click 'Add DNS Record'. Now choose your record type and enter your host and data.

5a. Adding an A record. In this example we will add an A record for server.example.34sp.com A 192.168.1.100. When finished click 'Add'

5b. Adding an AAAA record (IPv6 address).

In the below example we add an AAAA record of 2a00:1ee0:1:10::5052:79f3 to example.34sp.com. We choose '@' as the host as we want this to be the AAAA record for example.34sp.com. If you wanted to create an AAAA record for office.example.34sp.com you would put 'office' in the host field.

5c. Adding a CNAME record

Enter the name of the host you want to set. In the below example we are setting up 'myblog.example.34sp.com' so the host will be 'myblog'.
In the data field enter the domain name you want this record to point to. In this case we have pointed myblog.example.34sp.com to myblogsdomain.co.uk.

Please Note: A CNAME is not the same as a domain redirect. If you just want to point a domain to an existing site, please use the 'Manage Redirects' area of your control panel.

5d. Adding an NS record (coming soon)

Please Note: If you have been asked to change your nameservers to a new host, This is not the correct place to do this. Please click this link to update your nameservers to a new/alternative host or nameserver of your choice.

6. You should see a confirmation message confirming your DNS change.

1. Login to https://account.34sp.com
2. Type the name of your domain into the search box. You can click on it when it appears or press enter.

3. Click on 'Plesk'

4. Click 'Log In' to access the Plesk control panel or enter. If you wish to set a new password for the Plesk control panel, click 'Update Password'
