Adding your site to the site manager

On starting CuteFtp you will be presented with the sitemanager this this is where you add / edit or remove your site.

Select a folder or create a new folder in which you wish your website to go under.

Click the NEW button, then enter a name for your site in the 'Label for Site' field.

In the field labelled 'FTP Host Address', enter your site name. This will be either 'SITENAME.34sp.com' or if you have a registered domain it will be 'SITENAME.EXT'. eg. mywebsite.34sp.com or mywebsite.com(.co.uk etc)

In the field labelled 'FTP Site User ID', enter your USERNAME that you setup with 34SP.com - This is case-sensitive.

In the field labelled 'FTP Site Password', enter your PASSWORD that you setup with 34SP.com - This is also case-sensitive. The port should be set to 21

As default the FTP client opens your website in the directory prior to your www.SITENAME.34sp.com main web root directory. Therefore before you start to upload you have to switch to the 'httpdocs' directory.

This can be rectified in 2 ways. The first of these is after you press the 'CONNECT' button to remember to switch to the 'httpdocs' in the right hand pane of your web directory each time you connect. Alternatively you can set up CuteFtp to automatically change to the proper directory for you.

To setup CuteFtp to change to the correct directory automatically press the 'Actions' tab on on the Site Manager screen. You will then be presented with the Site Properties dialog box. In the field 'Default Remote Directory' type in "httpdocs/".

How to upload a file / directory

Simply drag a file or directory from the left hand pane (Your PC) into the right hand pane (34SP Server).

Right click a file or directory in the left hand pane and select 'Upload' from the popup menu

Double click a file in the left hand pane

Left click a file or directory in the left hand pane and then select 'Upload' from the 'Transfer' menu

How to download a file / directory

Simply drag a file or directory from the right hand pane (34SP Server) into the left hand pane (Your PC).

Right click a file or directory in the right hand pane and select 'Download' from the popup menu.

Double click a file in the right hand pane.

Left click a file or directory in the right hand pane and then select 'Download' from the 'Transfer' menu.
